Château Cantemerle is een van de oudste wijnhuizen van de Médoc met een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de 14e eeuw. Het is gevestigd in Macau, een dorpje in het zuiden van de Haut-Médoc op een kwartier rijden van Margaux. Château Cantemerle is een 5e Grand Cru Classé, maar stond niet op de oorspronkelijke lijst. Het château werd toegevoegd terwijl de Parijse beurs – waar de classificatie werd gepresenteerd – nog aan de gang was.
